PHC/VCH/UBC Foot&Ankle Service Wins the IFFAS Takakura Prize

On September 20, 2o14, at the Triennial Meeting of the International Federation of Foot & Ankle Societies (IFFAS) in Chicago, Dr. Alastair Younger, the Lead Author, along with PHC Co-Authors, Dr. Kevin Wing and Dr. Murray Penner were awarded the Takakura Prize, the most prestigious Foot & Ankle clinical research award in the world for the study “Patient Expectation and Satisfaction as Measures of Surgical Outcome in End-Stage Ankle Arthritis: A Prospective Cohort Study of Ankle Joint Replacement vs Ankle Fusion“. Co-Authors sharing in this prize are Drs. Glazebrook, Daniels, Lalode, Dryden, and Wong from the Canadian Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (COFAS). This award is given only every 3 years and the recipient paper is selected from over 1000 papers submitted to the Triennial Meeting, the largest foot & ankle surgery congress in the world.
